Madewell, Zara and the Gap: What to rush out and buy

There are treasures to be found right now at Madewell, The Gap and Zara. My close friend Misha came to town from Santa Barbara and her close friend from Houston, Ali, of Daughter in Law Diaries. We had lunch at True Food Kitchen and then we hit Madewell, The Gap and Zara.  Here are some things we found and how to wear them.

The List of must haves:
1. The Blazer: Madewell charade blazer

This is Misha (who looks like a French goddess in this outfit and glasses!) at Madewell Santa Monica.

2. The Beaded mini skirt from Zara:

This skirt fits perfectly, it is a bit heavy but really looks great on. It looks designer and is a fair price!

3. Gap ballet flats:

These flats fit like a glove, are cut right for most feet and with the on-line discount are under $30.  I have in every fun color (no neutrals; they look cheaper--if you buy a neutral or black flat make it an investment). PS--Important: Go half to a full size smaller--I had to put insoles in my 8.5's!

Here is me in the flats. These are my Valentine's Day flats!

4. Gap colorful jeans:

the new skimmer. the must-have denim length skims just above the ankle in new 1969 colors and prints.

Love these Gap skimmer printed jeans; be sure to take a closer look--they are gorg!:

Ojai Valley

Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is my favorite close to LA get away. It is an hour and a half door to door and once you walk through the doors of this Spanish Style paradise you feel a world away. Here are some photos and what to pack:

Cutest Rain boots ever

Today it was a little rainy here in LA. This is a special occasion! I raced to my closet to put on my Aigle rain boots. I love the chance to break them out (even if it is light ocean mist)--those of you in Seattle like Stephmodo must live in them! Here are some Loeffler Randall boots to up your rainy day look: No one else will have these bad boys at preschool drop-off!
