Palm Springs: Avalon Hotel and what to wear

Every spring I go to the desert with a friend and we stay at the Parker. This year the Parker is booked on top of booked. Instead we are staying at Avalon hotel (formerly the Viceroy). It looks really cute. Check it out below and what to wear in the desert:

This morning I had a free window and I popped into COS in Beverly Hills. I scooped up some interesting, great pieces. I am obsessed with this skirt and have not taken it off today!Note, It is very high waisted so you need a cropped top (see below) or a tucked muscle tee--I think more arm showing is a better look with a this shape.
