Clients often ask me what they should splurge on and what they should save on. There are some items that you need to spend money on and there are others that you can buy at the Gap, Zara, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Old Navy, ect. I recently brought a client a few pairs of Old Navy Rockstar jeans to try and she LOVED them and they looked great. Saving enables us to splurge on the things that really define our style and our wardrobes.
Here are some examples of things to SAVE on. Really.
Old Navy vintage T-shirts ($9.50 plus 30% off, practically free)
Gap Minna Soda wash T-shirt ($16.99 plus 30%)
These t-shirts look great under cashmere sweaters, beautiful blazers, leather moto-jackets. No need to spend $50 or more on James Perse. Put that money toward some of the items to come on the splurge list!
This gorgeous bracelet looks like Hermes with the right ensemble. It comes with black, red, or orange horses too!
This scarf makes everything look more current. It looks like McQueen for a fraction.
Things to splurge on: Basically beautiful things that matter. Classic gorgeous bag, beautifully flattering dress, shoes that are well made and versatile, unique and interesting jackets and blazers, simple jewelry, double-ply cashmere in interesting shapes, ect. p.s. After holiday sales are the best time to stock up on investment items. Great sales to be had!
